Sancha Butler

Sancha Butler

I’m a 23 year old dressage rider/trainer and student at The University of Sydney where I’m completing my Honours in Animal & Veterinary Bioscience.

I was only 2 when my mum first sat me on a pony, and couldn’t get me off! Sfor my third birthday I was given my first pony, he was the fluffiest little white welsh mountain pony named Mozart who is still out there teaching kids today! Throughout my years as a young rider I was extremely lucky to grow up working with some of the most amazing trainers and horses to both learn from and campaign. Including my once in a lifetime horse, Goldshaft Moonshadow who Itrained from prelim to working Grand Prix before he suddenly passed away in 2015.

Over the years I have achieved all the goals that I set myself in the dressage arena and more, obtained young rider scholarships, been a member numerous state and national performance squads, represented Australia and was awarded the first ever equestrian on Elite Athlete Scholarship Program to The University of Sydney.

My current team of competition horses includes Revelwood Dynasty, a 9yo Warmblood by Don Ramiro who is just returning to competition form after a series of setbacks issues including major colic surgery. Carwyn Monte Carlo is 4yo Welsh cob, and after originally purchasing him as project to break in and sell has continued to grow and develop into a extremely trainable and clever pony. After recently winning the Young Horse 4yo pony champion and overall champion of champion ponies at the 2016 Sydney CDI he is now back in training showing serious talent for dressage and is a very exciting pony.

I am very lucky to have an amazing team behind me and have the continued support from Flexible Fit Equestrian, after all the years my gear not only fits amazingly but has been put through its paces and still looks fantastic!
